This weekend is devoted to well-watered picnics. Funky Picnic Cafe & Brewery celebrates its second anniversary with a big tent party, while TX Whiskey invites people to come back to the Ranch with an afternoon picnic. There is also a frosty evening, an Italian wine dinner and not one but two events involving painting.

Summer social with MELT ice cream at the Worthington Renaissance Hotel
“Because it’s summer.” It really is the only excuse you need to relax with ice cream, instead of cocktails, at an after work happy hour. The Fort Worth city center hotel hosts a free ice cream party open to everyone from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cool off with free (yes, free!) MELT homemade scoops of homemade ice cream, or treat yourself to a margarita for $ 5, while mingling in the Lobby Lounge. It’s supposed to be a networking event, so stop by solo or meet some friends. No RSVP required.

Live painting and artist meeting at 97 West Kitchen & Bar
The 97 West Kitchen & Bar at the Drover Hotel will host “A Spirited Night with Laura Goodson,” which has two paintings hanging in the new Stockyards Hotel. Attendees can snack on appetizers, sip sparkling wine and signature cocktails, listen to live music, meet the artist, and watch Goodson paint a new piece, which will then be sold at an auction. silent for the benefit of ACH Child and Family Services. Funky Picnic Brewery & Café 2nd Anniversary Party

There will be beer stations and dining options, and they will serve several special beers for the special occasion. A bracelet offers guests three 10-ounce installments of the beer of their choice. Picnic Day at TX Whiskey Ranch
Whiskey Ranch, the Fort Worth home of TX Whiskey, is officially open for tours and events again. They organize a picnic for the guests (21 and over) to enjoy good meals, drinks and beautiful views of the downtown skyline. Ticket the $ 65 price includes admission for two, a TX Whiskey commemorative picnic blanket, two drink tickets, and two boxes of picnic snacks. Note that an 11am timeslot is full, so the last remaining window is 2pm to 4pm.

Trap vegan brunch and paint at Rebirth of Food
Spend Sunday afternoon eating delicious vegan brunches, rocking to cool hip-hop / R&B tunes, and painting a masterpiece on 16×20 canvas. There is a limited number of places for this event at Food Renaissance, a vegan restaurant on Oakland Boulevard in East Fort Worth. There are two sessions, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Spaces are limited and each $ 25 ticket includes a free mimosa.

Antinori Wine Dinner at Wishbone & Flynt
Chef Stefon Rishel will prepare a personalized five-course meal to pair with Antinori wines from Italy. The menu includes roasted beet gnocchi (paired with the 2013 Antica Vineyard Single Vineyard cabernet); Rosemary and ricotta agnolotti with braised pork cheeks (associated with Guado al Tasso Super Tuscan 2017); and much more. Dinner starts at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $ 210 (taxes and fees not included).
