Ally Carraway has always loved going to Lugoff House of Pizza in her hometown of Lugoff, South Carolina. Now she gets the same food at a new restaurant in Augusta.
2 Boys Pizza and Grill opened last month on Washington Road, right next to Super 8, where Denny’s is located.
“We’ve never found anywhere like Lugoff House of Pizza, so it’s very exciting to find a place like this,” Carraway said.
2 Boys Pizza and Grill is similar as its owner, Magdy Faltaous, is the brother of pizzeria Lugoff owner and the menus are the same.
“I have been working at this company for 20 years now,” Faltaous said. “I have another one in Columbia, but my brother ran the one in Columbia, so I have this one all by myself here now,” he said. “I love this area and I love this road, it looks so busy. I can’t find any kind of food like ours here.
The restaurant offers a variety of options including pizza, pasta, gyros, burgers, hot subs and Stromboli. He said they make fresh pizza everyday and the spaghetti sauce is homemade.
Carraway had stopped by for a takeout chicken Alfredo order last week.
“My food was really good,” she said. “The best part, I thought it was so much food so I thought about what you paid for it, I thought you had a deal.”
Coming to Augusta
Every Sunday, Faltaous travels from Columbia to attend St. Augustine Coptic Orthodox Church on Fury’s Ferry Road. It was during these weekly trips that he started to love the area and decided to open the restaurant here.
He still lives in Columbia and travels to Augusta Monday through Saturday, when 2 Boys Pizza and Grill is open. The restaurant is closed on Sundays so that he can go to church.
He wants to buy a house in the Augusta area, but is more focused on making the business run smoothly. It took him about six months to prepare for the location to open, but says he still has staff issues.
“I don’t have enough help, which is why I don’t advertise,” he said, noting that he is hiring.
Faltaous said he worries about being so busy that he won’t be able to maintain the level of customer service he wants to provide.
Carraway plans to return for more.
“I think Washington Road is a good place for them. It’s right next to the highway, people can just get on, get off for a quick meal if they pass by, ”she said.
2 Boys Pizza & Grill is located at 3026 Washington Road and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
