HOLIDAYS abroad will cost much more this year, due to rising fuel prices and huge demand for flights exceeding supply.

However, there are a number of UK destinations that make you feel like you’re abroad – without having to fly.

ASDA Silver revealed the best UK alternatives for some iconic overseas holiday destinations, including Italy, Spain and the US.

Katie Walley, senior manager at ASDA Money, noted that as travel returns to some sort of normality, there is “a lot to enjoy here in the UK”.

She added that these twinned locations “will provide great holiday destinations to visit this year, or to draw inspiration from in the future – whether they want to get away or stay a little closer to home”.
