Up to 1,000 Italian fans allowed to make final trip to Wembley | Football news

ROME: The Italian Football Association (FIGC) said on Wednesday that up to 1,000 fans will be able to travel to London for the Euro 2020 final on Sunday, following an agreement reached with British authorities.
Due to strict Covid-19 quarantine requirements for visitors to Britain, supporters outside the UK have effectively been unable to attend Italy’s last two games at Wembley, in the last 16 and semi-finals.
For the final, “the British authorities have guaranteed a maximum of 1,000 people from Italy the possibility of going to London, with a series of requirements to be met” but without quarantine in the United Kingdom, said the FIGC in a press release.
Fans will arrive in London just before kick-off at 19:00 GMT and will not stay longer than 12 hours. They will use direct flights and dedicated transport organized by the FIGC.
Once inside the stadium, traveling supporters will be seated in a specific area to “guarantee the safety bubble”, he added.
Before leaving Italy, spectators will have to undergo a PCR test, and will be required to observe a five-day quarantine at home upon their return, in accordance with Italian rules for all travelers arriving from Britain.
Flights will cost 610 euros per person, with match tickets sold for 95 euros, the federation said.
FIGC will receive around 6,500 tickets for Italian supporters residing in the UK, the same allowance as for Tuesday’s semi-final against Spain.
Italy beat Spain 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Roberto Mancini’s team are trying to win the country’s first European title since 1968.
